Hera Selects is a curated selection of photos from your photo session or wedding day. We believe in creating storylines with images so each photo is thoughtfully presented with you in mind. Hera Selects are given special attention in regards to skin retouching, photo manipulation, and other enhancement edits. Like a box of fine handcrafted chocolates, the Collector's Package is a collection of images that cohesively envisions the entirety of your wedding while still emphasizing the importance of each individual photo. Much like Hera Selects, these photos are given special attention in regards to composition, colour, and selection. The number of photos vary depending on the type of booking and are all processed in our editing lab along your Hera Selects. Engagement/Pre-Wedding: Digital processing takes approximately two (2) to four (4) weeks from the date of the session.
Wedding: Digital processing takes approximately six (6) to eight (8) weeks from the date of the session.
Autobiography: Digital processing takes approximately one (1) to three (3) business days from the date of the session.
The times noted above are estimates only and actual processing times can be longer depending on the production schedule.
Payments are only authorized at the time of checkout. Payments are captured manually by the Hera team and you will only be charged once your order is approved. An email confirmation will be sent to you after approval. The primary payment method currently being used is Credit Card. If you require an alternative payment schedule, we have partnered up with Sezzle to provide options for our clients that are seeking for a different payment schedule plan. Simply select Sezzle at checkout to complete your booking in 4 interest-free payments. For Pre-Wedding and Wedding services, if you are seeking an alternative payment plan, please contact email@example.com.
We understand that most companies collect a partial deposit the time the Service Agreement is signed with the remaining balance due 2-3 weeks prior to the event. The reason we decided to not have deposits and require the full payment is to develop an e-commerce experience for our clients to reduce frictions in the wedding planning process from needing to set reminders to pay 10 different vendors at once. Once you’ve signed the Service Agreement and completed your payment with us, you can sit back and relax knowing that your booking is secured with no additional labor needed - We will take care of the rest!
Once you have completed the booking, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions to the next steps. Our Client Success Team will also reach out to you to further discuss the details of your event. Please be advised that your payments are only authorized upon completing the booking online. Payments will only be captured when Hera approves the booking.
Depending on the month you’re getting married, we are sometimes booked up more than a year in advance - especially during the peak season (July-September). 60 days in advance is required for Engagement, Pre-Wedding and Wedding services. We always suggest planning ahead to secure your ideal date! Please be advised that your date isn’t reserved until you officially sign the Service Agreement and complete the payment.

At Hera, our top priority is the health and well being of our clients, teams and communities. We are monitoring closely on the latest developments of Covid-19 and the regulations ordered from the Provincial Health Officials. We will be requiring all clients to sign a Health and Safety Agreement prior to their booking to ensure both parties are safe and comfortable on the day of.
Engagement + Pre-Wedding
Yes. Although we do encourage a maximum of two outfit changes during the shoot due to limited time constraints. Please also make a note before choosing locations that there is a convenient and close by place to change.
Absolutely! For all Pre-Wedding sessions, we will be providing minimal props to assist with the photoshoot. If you would like to bring in your own props, feel free to discuss with the Client Success Team to see what is appropriate.
We allow dogs on engagement shoots if prior notice is given so we can plan accordingly. You must make sure your dog is well behaved and trained. Animals can be temperamental and may delay or disrupt the shoot.
Any special requests must be made prior to shooting. Please allow no less than two weeks before to enquire about changes.
It is recommended that you check weather conditions prior to choosing a time and date. As stated, any changes to plans for your shoot, including location must be made prior to shooting. Of course, the weather is unpredictable, and we will do our best to accommodate. But make sure to choose a location with a sheltered area in case of this happening. Alternatively, you may have the option to shoot in our studio if you book within due time.
Yes, of course! Though please note, if you choose to wear heels, we recommend bringing an extra pair of shoes that are comfortable and easy to walk in whilst moving between locations.
We want your images to leave you feeling beautiful! So we encourage you to step a little out of your comfort zone and embrace your beauty. We also want the images to represent you and for you to be comfortable. If you really do not wish to wear a dress, feel free to wear a more formal, flowy blouse. Something that is still elegant and leaves you feeling empowered.
Hera have been providing photography services for over ten years, be rest assured we will compose the best possible images for you. We respect and understand you may have particular ideas in mind, but we only have a limited amount of time whilst on location. If you have specific ideas in mind, feel free to let us know prior whilst we work together to create plans for your shoot. We will happily add your ideas into the schedule.
We will provide 1-2 dresses for all the pre-wedding collections.
Long story short, engagement photos are more casual and are typically used to announce the couple’s intention to marry, whereas pre-wedding photographs are more formal and feature the couple in their wedding attire.Both types of wedding photography capture the love and commitment between the happy couple. They capture the beauty and excitement leading up to the big event.
We will always try our best to pair you up with the same photographers for your engagement and wedding, however, this is something we simply cannot guarantee as there are too many variables leading up to the wedding day. There could be family emergencies or changes in their career / academic paths. We employ full-time, part-time and seasonal staff every season and what we can guarantee is the consistency in quality that is provided under the direction of our Creative Director and guarantee that if any staffing issues were to arise, we have a full roster of talented artists to attend your wedding.
Hera Studios consists of many professional photographers and videographers that are trained to execute the Hera vision. We are unable to guarantee the Hera staff that will attend the weddings. In comparison, traditionally when individual photographers or videographers are sick or unable to attend a scheduled wedding, their partners or “second shooters” will attend the weddings as the lead, usually leading to a lesser product as they’re not equally skilled.
PHOTOGRAPHY: Our photographers will work with you to ensure you are comfortable in the poses they put you in and they also have lots of tricks up their sleeves to help you feel more comfortable in front of the camera. We put a lot of emphasis on having natural interactions between the two of you to capture those "candid" moments. An example would be that they will ask you to hold hands and take a walk together while trying to bump into each other's hip, this causes more natural movements and also giggling almost 99% of the time!
VIDEO: For shots that require interaction such as card reading, first look, gifts, it will all be set up and directed by the videographers. Typically we will scout the area first for the best lighting and backdrop then position you in place and let you know how the shoot will proceed. For example, the videographer will say "Okay we're going to do the first card reading as is. If you make a mistake reading, don't worry, take a deep breath and start from the last sentence again. After the first take, we might ask you to do a second reading so we can capture a different angle (behind the shoulder, from afar, card and hands only, etc.)”.
For other shots that require a more "natural" look, we will ask you to do activities that will produce a natural reaction, such as "I want you guys to hold hands, and take a walk and talk to each other until we say stop!". The videographers will then proceed with shooting your reactions, close ups of your shoes/dress flowing, and close ups of your ring and hands to get different types of shots that we can use in the Feature Film.
Along with these directed shots, we will also secretly capture the "in between" moments so there is a good mix of footage for us to use.
Our Wedding Collections consist of two team members where they work as a team to capture the events throughout the day. For instance, during the ceremony, we will have one videographer following the bride down the aisle while the other videographer captures the groom's reaction. This allows us to have ample footage to work with in post to create your beautiful story. We therefore kindly request this in order to sustain our quality of work to what Hera is known for.
Our Wedding Collections are default at 10 hours. This coverage can be adjusted based on each couple’s needs. Additional fees are required for coverage over 10 hours. For more information, please contact email@example.com for a custom quote.
Wedding albums are not included in the Wedding Collections but print goods are available for purchase in the Online Shop within your Private Online Gallery.
We do not release Raw unedited footage. Although Raw files are created during the capture process, the Raw files are not representative of our Hera vision. Through curation, careful selection, edits and final presentation, Hera produces the end products that many love and enjoy. The Raw files are unreleased because they do not represent our work, and at times the Raw files are not viewable unless processed and decoded.
In 2019, Hera covered over 200 weddings in Vancouver BC. During that time, our in-house team grew to 25 members including photographers, videographers and editors. Unlike many studios, our photographers and videographers focuses on just the production end. We operate very similar to traditional production studios where pre-production, production, and post production are all done by separate departments allowing each team to focus on their strengths and passion.
All the equipment and lightings will be set up to take the perfect picture. This includes camera, lights, backdrop and studio space. You will have full control of when and how the image will be taken. All digital images can be downloaded from a private gallery online after session. Please allow 2-3 processing days for the images to be uploaded.
Yes, due to covid safety protocols we’re unable to faciliate walk-ins at this time. Please book through our website to reserve a time at our studio.
Due to covid safety protocols, a limit of 6 people is allowed at once.
Yes, there are street parking available infront and around Hera Studios. There is also a commercial parking lot behind the studio. Due to heavy traffic, we suggest arriving 15 minutes early to find parking and get ready for the Autobiography session.
Yes, additional costs will be incurred when adding additional people, purchasing original files, or any of our additional products and services.
Additional fees can be paid in person during your session.
Yes, changes and cancellations are possible through the confirmation email that will be sent out upon scheduling. Please review your appointment email or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to make changes. Appointments can be rescheduled limited to availability and within 1 month of original scheduled date. Refunds are unavailable at this time.
If you decide to cancel your booking at any time, your Service Agreement with Hera Studios will be cancelled and all services are non-refundable. Date changes to the session can be discussed with the Client Success Team. If you wish to change the date of the session, the original Service Agreement will be cancelled and the parties will enter into a new Hera’s form of agreement at Hera’s then current rates.
